The short version
These Joymeet terms and conditions are the dating app terms of use for our website and app. They explain the rules for using Joymeet, what you can expect from us and what we expect from you. They cover how you use the service. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy, and cookies are explained in our Cookie Policy.
- Using Joymeet means you agree to these terms.
- You must be 18 or older.
- Treat other people with respect.
- You keep ownership of your content, and you give us a license to display it so the service works.
- Block and report tools are there for you.
- Core features are free, and optional upgrades may be offered.
1. Accepting these terms
These terms form an agreement between you and [Company Name] ("Joymeet", "we", "us" or "our"). They apply to the Joymeet website, the Joymeet app and any related features we provide (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, signing in or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read these terms and agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
We encourage you to read these terms together with the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.
2. Who can use Joymeet
Joymeet is for adults only. To use the Service, you confirm that:
- you are at least 18 years old;
- you are legally able to enter into a binding contract;
- you are not prohibited by law from using the Service; and
- you have not previously been removed from Joymeet for breaking our rules.
If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account, we may remove that account without notice.
3. Your account
To use most features, you need to register an account. When you do, please:
- give accurate, current information about yourself;
- keep your sign-in details private and secure;
- keep to one account per person; and
- tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account.
You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Please do not share your account or let anyone else use it.
4. Respectful communication and conduct
Joymeet is meant to be a place for friendly, honest conversation. Everyone who uses the Service is expected to be kind, to respect other people's boundaries and to take "no" or silence as an answer.
What we ask you to do
- Be honest about who you are, including in your photos and profile details.
- Be considerate in conversations and respect consent.
- Step away politely if someone is not interested.
What is not allowed
You may not use Joymeet to:
- harass, bully, threaten, stalk or intimidate anyone;
- post hateful content or discriminate against people because of who they are;
- pretend to be another person or misrepresent your identity;
- run scams, or ask other users for money, gift cards or financial details;
- send spam, chain messages or unwanted bulk messages;
- advertise or promote products, services or other platforms;
- share another person's private information without their permission;
- post unlawful content or use the Service for any unlawful purpose; or
- interfere with the Service, attempt to access it by unauthorized means or collect data from it automatically.
We may take action, including removing content or restricting accounts, when behavior breaks these rules.
5. Your content and profile
"Your content" means the photos, text, interests and messages you add to Joymeet. You keep ownership of your content.
To run the Service, we need your permission to use it. By posting content, you give [Company Name] a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, display and transmit your content so that we can operate and provide the Service. This license ends when your content is deleted from the Service, except where copies remain for a reasonable period in backups or where the content has been shared with others.
You confirm that:
- your content is yours, or you have the right to share it;
- your content is lawful and does not infringe anyone else's rights; and
- the photos you upload show you.
We may remove content that breaks these terms or that we reasonably believe could harm others.
Any profile examples shown on our marketing pages are illustrations and are not real members.
6. Reporting and blocking
You are in control of who you talk to. If someone makes you uncomfortable, you can:
- Block them. Blocking removes that person from your experience, so they can no longer contact you through the Service.
- Report them. Reports help us look into behavior or content that may break these terms.
We review reports and may take action where appropriate. We cannot promise a specific response time or outcome for any report.
Safety reminder: If you decide to meet someone in person, choose a public place, tell a friend your plans and take your time. Never send money to someone you have met online. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
7. Free features and optional upgrades
Signing up for Joymeet and using its core features is free. We may also offer optional paid upgrades. These are never required to use the free parts of the Service.
If you choose a paid upgrade, the price, billing period, renewal and cancellation details will be shown to you before you pay. Those details are described here: [Subscription and billing details]. Refunds are handled as described in our [Refund policy].
If you purchase through an app store, the store's own payment and refund terms also apply to that purchase.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Joymeet is a way to meet and talk to people. We do not guarantee that you will find a match, start a relationship or have any particular result.
We also cannot control what other users say or do. You are responsible for your own decisions when you interact with other people, online or in person. We do not conduct criminal background checks on users [Confirm].
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- [Company Name] is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service;
- we are not responsible for the conduct of any user, online or offline; and
- our total liability to you for claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, for the Service in the period set out in the applicable law.
Some places do not allow certain limits on liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending your account
You can stop using Joymeet and delete your account at any time. Deleting your account does not by itself cancel any paid upgrade bought through a third party, so please also manage that purchase where you made it.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, put other users at risk or use the Service in a way that could harm Joymeet or others.
When an account ends, your right to use the Service stops. These sections continue to apply afterward: Your content and profile (the parts about your responsibility for what you posted), Disclaimers and limitation of liability, Governing law and disputes, and any other section that by its nature should continue.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add features or when the law changes. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change is material, we will notify you in a reasonable way, such as in the app or by email.
If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you can stop using the Service and delete your account.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [Governing Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
If a disagreement comes up, we encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved this way will be handled through the following process: [Dispute resolution process].
