Introduction to Arduino

Have you heard of Arduino?

Arduino (pronounced Ar-dwee-no or Ardu-weeno) is a very fun and powerful hobby level computer system that is easy to learn, and has a huge community of projects, support, and guidance. It is the start of many great projects from home automation, robotics, and 3D printing, to just about anything else.

Get Started

Included is an Arduino UNO computer board, USB programming and power cable, a breadboard to prototype circuits, hookup wire and parts to create your first projects. The software to program the computer is available free online.

Let's Learn

The curriculum will take you through the steps of loading the software, running your first sample program, creating circuits that interface with the Arduino computer, and programming the Arduino to interact with the circuits and you. You will create a programmable light detector with a variable trigger point and sound. The curriculum will give you all the basics you need to strike out on your own and start seeing the possibilities for science and engineering with this little device.

Open up to Open Source

One of the great things about Arduino is the huge amount of support and project ideas on line. The "open source" nature of Arduino means you have people from all around the world contributing code and ideas to this educational and fun system. Join them today.

The kit comes with an UNO computer, USB cord, breadboard, a light sensor, speaker, switches, LEDs, resistors, and hookup wire. You also get an electronic version of the curriculum.

You can find Arduino kits very cheaply on Amazon and eBay. Download the free guide below to start exploring the capability of this little computer.
